Cardinal Integrated Systems is proud to carry dock truck restraints from respected manufacturer Poweramp.

Dock truck restraints are permanently attached to the dock and hook onto the trailer’s rear impact guard or ICC bar.  The hook holds the trailer in place and helps protect against trailer creep – inch by inch movement of the trailer away from the dock due to momentum caused by forklift travel.

Truck restraints are more effective at holding the trailer than traditional rubber wheel chocks.  There are two main types of truck restraints:

Passive Truck Restraints

Passive truck restraints are a widely used method of safely securing the connection between the trucks and loading dock.  These include:
  • The PowerStop is a passive truck restraint designed to make trailer loading and unloading at the dock safer and more stable.  The PowerStop is a low profile design that can be mounted on the driveway or wall and can control up to 30,000 lbs.  The PowerStop is easy to activate.  The operator simply lifts up the release lever after the truck is parked against the dock bumpers.  During loading and unloading, the spring arm moves freely with the trailer.
  • The Powerhold is a passive truck restraint from Poweramp.  The Powerhold is the only other truck restraint, besides the Powerhook, that works on both the X and Y axis to seek and find a trailer ICC bar.  The Powerhold truck restraint closes the safety gap and completely eliminates trailer creep.  The Powerhold is easily installed as a retro fitted restraint for existing loading docks.  After mounting into your concrete drive approach, the Powerhold safely holds trailers until they are completely loaded or unloaded.
Active Dock Truck Restraints

Active dock truck restraints, like the Powerhook from Poweramp, are an important safety feature when it comes to loading and unloading from trailer to dock.

The Powerhook works on both the X and Y-axis to actively seek and hook the ICC bar and hold it to the dock without a gap.  To ensure safety, the Powerhook will not allow the dock leveler to operate until the hook is engaged.

The Powerhook has an extremely wide range of motion and is the only hydraulic truck restraint that can be completely hidden.
