Powered conveyors are a common piece of manufacturing and warehousing equipment used to transport products.  These conveyors are useful when goods need to be moved on an incline.  There are seven main types of powered conveyors:

Accumulation
Accumulation conveyors are used to control the flow of materials by holding materials until given a signal to release.  These conveyors are used in applications where products need to be fed into a machine at a certain, steady rate, or when products are being lined up for shipping.

Different variations of accumulation conveyors include low pressure and zero pressure.  Low pressure means that the products are allowed to touch very lightly.  Zero pressure means release of the product is controlled so that they never touch.

Chain Driven Live Roller
Chain driven live roller conveyors are ideal in applications where heavier loads such as loaded pallets need to be transported.

This is an accumulation system with zero pressure, meaning the loads will not touch.  CDLR's are positively driven and require minimal maintenance.  The roll-to-roll chain system and welded construction make them durable and efficient.

Line Shaft
Line shaft conveyors are useful in transporting lighter materials, such as cardboard boxes and tote boxes and are powered by a shaft that runs underneath the rollers.

Line shaft conveyors are quiet, easy to install and easy to maintain.  They can also be easily configured to turn corners and curve.

Slider Bed
Slider bed conveyors are good for light to medium loads.  This system is made of a metal frame with rollers attached at both ends.  The belt slides across the frame.

Slider bed conveyors are quiet, affordable and easy to install.  They can come in heavier duties to accommodate larger items.  Slider beds can also be customized to work at an incline or decline.  These conveyors are good for use in inspections, packaging, assembly and sorting in a variety of industries.

Drag Chain
Drag chain conveyors are used for difficult items not conveyable on traditional roller conveyors.  These conveyors can be installed vertically, horizontally or diagonally and on an incline or decline.  They consist of a long chain fitted with “flights” at intervals.

Drag chain conveyors can be used for loading and leveling trailers and are also ideal for long distance usage.

Magnetic
Magnetic conveyors are typically used to transport wet or dry items made of iron, such as scrap metal, machine chips, parts, fasteners, cans and more.  Magnetic conveyors feature the following options: L-shape, Z-shape, straight shape, pivoting and height differentiations.

V-Belt
V-belt conveyors are a useful tool when moving materials throughout a warehouse.  The V-belt conveyor is a system of roller beds in a usually steel frame.  The individual rollers propel the material forward, on an incline, on a decline, and even around corners.
